Lush!

Clockwise from top left, King of Skin Body Butter, Buffy Body Butter, Mange Too Massage Bar, Therapy Massage Bar

It's been a long time since I've even stepped into a Lush store.  Probably 7 years when I was still living in LA.  I checked it out a couple times when they first opened and it seemed cool but was just too overwhelming with all the scents and it seemed like to had to learn all new ways to use these things (like shampoo bars and non-soap soaps) plus I never do bubble baths so that pretty much cancels out half their stuff.  Anyways, I don't remember who's blog I was reading but they really seemed to like it and I also saw that MakeupByMel also did a whole bunch of reviews (non-sponsored) so I thought I would give it another shot.  What sold me was the R&B hair treatment.  I recently got a Japanese digital perm on my boob length hair and it has totally wrecked it.  With my thick, straight asian hair I never used to get split ends and now it feels like I have hundreds which is soooo annoying!  I do like the permed effect though so I'm always searching for products I help improve my situation.  Morrocan Oil and the Loreal Sulfate Free Overnight treatment is pretty good but I think the R&B beats them. I also like that most of the ingredients are natural.  A friend of mine recently got pregnant and she told me all the things that you're not supposed to use and it started to make me think that I should be more conscious about what I'm putting on and in my body.  Well back to Lush . . . the R&B is very moisturizing without feeling heavy and greasy.  As I was paying for it the lip scrubs caught my eye.  That's also very good, a little messy so do it over the sink, but it works.  The body butters and massage bars I just got today so I haven't tested it out yet.  I did try the butters on my arm at the store and omg the King of Skin is soooo moisturizing.  My arm is still nicely moisturized over 10 hours later including a 2 hour workout!  I always always always put on lotion after my shower so it might be nice to see if putting it on in the shower works better.  You probably capture more water in your skin instead of drying off and then slathering lotion over????  We shall see.  Oh and the massage bar can also double as a lotion also minus the massage =( if needed.  I can't wait to try more products so if anyone has any recommendations let me know.

2 for you, 1 for me

I think I would have considered myself quite the gamer in the early 90's but after game consoles started coming out with sequels that was it.  Even those 360degree games on the GameCube were too much for me.  Maybe because I get car/boat sick or maybe I'm just getting old . . . whatever the reason is all I know is that they are not for me.  Anyways so this morning my husband asked me if I could pick up the new Halo along with a wireless headset.  At first I was like "Ugh." foreseeing any outdoor weekend plans quickly disappear but then I realized it was a great excuse to go to the mall (and checking out the Lush store again =) ).  While I was there I noticed that a new Professor Layton game came out!  My fav!  It's a gift being able to always find something for yourself.  =)  I figure I deserve it since he will guarantee spend 50+ hours playing Halo.  involuntary "ugh"  I'll let you guys know how the game is.  In the first one some of those puzzles were hard!!!

Seychelles The Biography

I can't even explain how excited I am to get these shoes!!!  Now if only I could find an outfit to wear with it.  =) I of course bought these from one of my most favorite stores EVER, Bamboo Sky in Honolulu.  They were about $149 and the quality is really good as are most shoes from Seychelles.  I love that there's a zipper on the side so you don't have to undo the laces every single time you put them on, just the very top one with the bow.  Genius.  That alone would discourage me from wearing boots.   I've only worn them around the house but they feel very comfortable and should be even more when worn with socks.  I almost wish it was colder here so I walk out of the house with these without feeling a tiny bit self conscious.

Online Hauling

The only good thing about the husband being away on a business trip is that I can wake up at 5am to shop online and then go back to bed and no one's there to get mad at me for waking them up.  If you don't know already I live in Hawaii and though it's the best place to live it kind of sucks that all the sample sales start at 11am EST(Hawaii is -6hours from EST right now).  Oh well.  So today I found a couple cute things that I COULD NOT resist.  Isn't this necklace the cutest!!  It also came in rose gold and I had the hardest time choosing between the two.  Ultimately I figured I'd get the most wear from this gunmetal one since the rose gold is a little more flashy.  I was on the fence about the Vince cardigan because it was still a bit pricey at 50% off but I heard the quality is great and I just found a hole in my current black go-to cardigan.  Can't wait to wear this one when it gets a little cooler here.

I should really start doing haul videos with the amount of great stuff I've been buying.  Just got more Environ skincare which is my fav (purchased at www.firstforskincare.com).  Ordered some ELF stuff so I could get another flat top powder brush.  This brush is so versatile that it's hard to have only one, plus it's like $3.  I scored a couple beautiful bags by Rebecca Minkoff at Nordstrom Rack too (only $89 each!).  I'm also anxiously awaiting my www.thecurrentcustom.com order too.  Time to freeze the credit cards in ice.  =)

P.S.

P.S. I was secretly so happy the day I got my first shipment not only because I finally got them but because in her vlog that day she mentioned that she always uses UPS unless you're international or if you live in Hawaii then she ships through USPS.  I was like hey she's talking about me!  haahaa =)  I know how immature can I be.  I didn't even tell my husband because for sure he would roll his eyes and ask how much they were.  3 not so bad but add on 6 more . . . I'm sure he can do the math.

David Smallcombe Bracelets from TheCurrentCustom.com

If you've ever went on youtube and watched a makeup or hair tutorial or haul I'm sure you've heard of Lorraine Stanick.  YouTube is addicting and I have been an addict for about 5 months now.  At least I can admit it now.  It IS my guilty pleasure.  Amazing how watching a couple 10 minute videos can turn into hours spent on the computer.  =P  Anyways, so I love watching Lorraine's vlogs on her TheCurrentBoobies channel and have always admired her jewelery but have resisted buying any until now.  I was a litle skeptical of the quality just because I have a lot of Tiffany's silver jewelry that gets banged up and scratched fairly easily especially the ones that I wear everyday.  On her blog she says she wears them 24/7, to sleep, workout, shower etc. and they still look shiney and good.  And like any good internet shopper, I researched, watched and read reviews, checked on prices and finally I am happy to say that I made a purchase!  Last week I received my 3 large cuffs in sterling silver, gold fill and rose gold fill.  Yah!  I am so happy with them and they are beautiful and good quality!  So happy that I ended up ordering 2 small cuffs of each color and the 5ft silver chain =|  ugh.  I love and hate mself right now but I couldn't help it.  In my mind I figured I'm saving money on shipping since I KNOW that if I only got one of each of the small ones I would want another set so I can mix and match.  So stupid but I also can't wait to see if any of my friends recognize them.  I don't THINK anyone else is obsessed enough (or have enough free time) to watch vlogs on Youtube but I guess you never know.  I myself am hesitant to talk about it with anyone my age.  Anyways, maybe when I get my next package I'll post some photos.  Just FYI, although the bracelets are beautiful and I love them, 3 large of each color looks not quite right.  Hence the need to buy the 6 small to get that full, contrasting look.  I would start with her recommended one large, 2 small cuffs if you're on a budget.  You can always add more on later =).

L'oreal Telescopic Liquid Liner Waterproof

After watching numerous tutorials about how great L'oreal's liquid liner is I finally decided to go out and buy it.  I've been using Blacktrack by MAC and figured it would look the same since it is pretty much a liquid . . . WRONG!  I love this liquid liner.  If you've ever had IOPE or another Korean brand liner it's pretty much the same thing but cheaper.  I kind of rolls off with makeup remover in pieces instead of fading away.  I wore it today AND worked out with it on and it stayed put!!!  No leaking into my eyes or racoons.  The ultimate test will be tomorrow when I wear it to my Shadow Boxing class (24hour).  I sweat so much in that class and am constantly towelling off my face the whole time.  Even blacktrack won't stay on.  If it works I'll have my HG workout combo, this and Diorshow waterproof! *crosses fingers* <3

Brand New Blog

Yah! I'm so excited to finally start this new blog.  I finally choose a decent name that I could live with which was really the hardest part.  For old posts please refer back to my first blog http://bonvivant24.blogspot.com/  I would have liked to keep it but the google/blogger connection is weird and when I changed my email address I couldn't link it to the old blog.  Anyways, I think this one will reflect my interests better since I won't be focusing on food as much as make up and beauty items.  With that said thanks for tuning in and hope you don't mind my rambles and personal opinions.  <3
