Lush!

It's been a long time since I've even stepped into a Lush store.  Probably 7 years when I was still living in LA.  I checked it out a couple times when they first opened and it seemed cool but was just too overwhelming with all the scents and it seemed like to had to learn all new ways to use these things (like shampoo bars and non-soap soaps) plus I never do bubble baths so that pretty much cancels out half their stuff.  Anyways, I don't remember who's blog I was reading but they really seemed to like it and I also saw that MakeupByMel also did a whole bunch of reviews (non-sponsored) so I thought I would give it another shot.  What sold me was the R&B hair treatment.  I recently got a Japanese digital perm on my boob length hair and it has totally wrecked it.  With my thick, straight asian hair I never used to get split ends and now it feels like I have hundreds which is soooo annoying!  I do like the permed effect though so I'm always searching for products I help improve my situation.  Morrocan Oil and the Loreal Sulfate Free Overnight treatment is pretty good but I think the R&B beats them. I also like that most of the ingredients are natural.  A friend of mine recently got pregnant and she told me all the things that you're not supposed to use and it started to make me think that I should be more conscious about what I'm putting on and in my body.  Well back to Lush . . . the R&B is very moisturizing without feeling heavy and greasy.  As I was paying for it the lip scrubs caught my eye.  That's also very good, a little messy so do it over the sink, but it works.  The body butters and massage bars I just got today so I haven't tested it out yet.  I did try the butters on my arm at the store and omg the King of Skin is soooo moisturizing.  My arm is still nicely moisturized over 10 hours later including a 2 hour workout!  I always always always put on lotion after my shower so it might be nice to see if putting it on in the shower works better.  You probably capture more water in your skin instead of drying off and then slathering lotion over????  We shall see.  Oh and the massage bar can also double as a lotion also minus the massage =( if needed.  I can't wait to try more products so if anyone has any recommendations let me know.

2 for you, 1 for me

I think I would have considered myself quite the gamer in the early 90's but after game consoles started coming out with sequels that was it.  Even those 360degree games on the GameCube were too much for me.  Maybe because I get car/boat sick or maybe I'm just getting old . . . whatever the reason is all I know is that they are not for me.  Anyways so this morning my husband asked me if I could pick up the new Halo along with a wireless headset.  At first I was like "Ugh." foreseeing any outdoor weekend plans quickly disappear but then I realized it was a great excuse to go to the mall (and checking out the Lush store again =) ).  While I was there I noticed that a new Professor Layton game came out!  My fav!  It's a gift being able to always find something for yourself.  =)  I figure I deserve it since he will guarantee spend 50+ hours playing Halo.  involuntary "ugh"  I'll let you guys know how the game is.  In the first one some of those puzzles were hard!!!

Seychelles The Biography

I can't even explain how excited I am to get these shoes!!!  Now if only I could find an outfit to wear with it.  =) I of course bought these from one of my most favorite stores EVER, Bamboo Sky in Honolulu.  They were about $149 and the quality is really good as are most shoes from Seychelles.  I love that there's a zipper on the side so you don't have to undo the laces every single time you put them on, just the very top one with the bow.  Genius.  That alone would discourage me from wearing boots.   I've only worn them around the house but they feel very comfortable and should be even more when worn with socks.  I almost wish it was colder here so I walk out of the house with these without feeling a tiny bit self conscious.
